Alderley Edge Family Home

A fully integrated, but discrete technology installation for this updated farmhouse, with a full lighting control system, distributed high definition video, iPad controls and fingerprint entry for the swimming pool suite.

Part of a complete renovation of this farmhouse, we designed and installed a simple but effective technology solution for this client and their young family.

In addition to supplying and installing a Lutron lighting control system, which includes over 200 individual circuits, SONA additionally carried out the lighting design for this project.  The system is controlled through dedicated, custom engraved keypads in addition to the iPad control system, and also includes Lutron motorised curtains and blinds to a number of key rooms.

A SONOS music system provides music to almost every room in the property, and a high definition video distribution system allows different members of the family to enjoy watching satellite, Apple TV, Blu-Ray or the CCTV images simultaneously across the house.

The family living room, off the main kitchen area conceals a completely hidden huge projection system that is cleverly built into the door reveals remaining virtually invisible when not in use.  Automatic black out curtains close behind the screen as it lowers and the family and their guests can enjoy all of the video sources in 3D on this screen.

All of these systems are controlled through custom programmed iPads, which allow single-button operation of the system.  A user simply selects the room they are in and what they would like to do and the system automatically configures.
The iPads also allow viewing of the CCTV cameras, opening of the gate, weather updates and a built in guide for visitors who haven’t used the system before.
